The Radar Data Receiver is a part which can receive detection information via data-link from vehicles equipped with radars. It allows units without their own radar to both display and track radar contacts, but it cannot scan or lock targets by itself.
This part is especially useful when setting up a hidden missile battery which you do not want destroyed by missiles that home in on radar signals.
