The BGM-71 TOW Missile is a short-range, laser beam-riding anti-tank missile. Although TOW was originally short for "Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided", the modern BGM-71 is wireless. Its range is roughly 2000 meters.

It is designed to be fired from the TOW Launcher turret, with the yellow warhead pointing forward.

The BGM-71 differs from other laser-guided weapons by detecting and "riding" a beam emitted from behind it, rather than by homing in towards a dot in front of it. This still means it requires a laser emitted by a Targeting Pod to function. Due to it's targeting nature, it is often difficult to use CoM track with the TOW missile.
